Mill Villages is an adaptive re-use, and historic preservation proposal for an affordable housing development at a historic textile mill in Rhode Island called Andrews Mill. This is an actual project being completed by NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley (NWBRV) who worked with the studio as clients. The main goal of this project was to provide opportunities for residents to have access to home ownership, employment, and education, while being supported through community amenities such as childcare, communal work and recreation spaces, as well as commercial space.

By partnering with NWBRV,and consulting with the Rhode Island Historical Society, a financial and architectural strategy was created to effectively utilize the square footage of the mill, and the site as a whole to provide
over 70 affordable units, while highlighting the historic nature of this structure, and keeping new construction to a minimum.
Research into historic mill infrastructure and planning, provided a larger conceptual outline for this project. The conceptual design scheme was developed to emulate the larger historic mill villages that existed
throughout New England on a smaller scale more suitable to this particular housing community
