The Little Lean is multi-use object designed to support and facilitate two activities that that require the human form to lean. The first activity was inspired by the casual activity of drinking coffee. Frequently at a cafe you will see people sitting on a chair and leaning on a table simultaneously. This artifact combines those functions into one object angled at very specific degrees to encourage this particular posture. The artifact is easily flipped on its side by the user in order to engage in the second activity which was designed around the group activity of casual group conversation. When it is flipped, it becomes an object reminiscent of a podium or tall counter. The user is intended to lean against the artifact with their arms resting on the top surface and their legs resting on the lower surface. When combined with other artifacts to create one large artifact it offers an option that is not seated but still very engaged with the other artifacts and the users engaging with them.
